Who teaches the lessons?
Avissh Trivedi, the founder, or an instructor he personally trained — you’ll know who before you book. Avissh started as a ballroom instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Las Vegas, taught ballroom and Bollywood at Elite Dance Studio, and ran the Euphoria Dance LA wedding studio from 2017 to 2024. How long have you been teaching?
Salsa Dance LA opened in 2021. Avissh has taught since 2012 — he started at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Las Vegas and ran the Euphoria Dance LA wedding studio for seven years before this.
Do you teach group salsa classes?
Not open drop-in classes — every lesson is private. You and a partner learn together for the same $150 private lesson; bigger groups (birthdays, team events, friends) get a quote by headcount on Private Events; and Dance Events lists our socials and workshops.
How long is a lesson?
Every lesson is 60 minutes — a full hour of one-on-one teaching, whether it’s a $150 private lesson or a Date Night Special for two at our North Hollywood partner studio.
Where are your lessons held?
Wherever suits you best. We teach at your home, venue, or event space anywhere in greater Los Angeles, or at one of our hourly partner studios in North Hollywood and San Gabriel. We’re especially active in Burbank, Toluca Lake, and across the San Gabriel Valley — Pasadena, Alhambra, and Arcadia.
Do you have a studio?
No — and that’s the point. Salsa Dance LA is a studio without walls: your instructor comes to you, or meets you at a partner studio when you want mirrors and a professional floor. You never pay for a building; you pay for teaching.
Which dance styles do you teach?
Salsa, bachata, and kizomba. Start with one or mix them — your lessons follow your taste in music and your goals, not a fixed curriculum.
I’ve never danced before. Is that a problem?
It’s our favorite starting point. Private lessons mean no audience and no pace but your own. Most beginners are genuinely dancing — to real music, with real confidence — by the end of the first session.
Do I need a partner?
No. Come solo and your instructor is your partner for the lesson. Come with a partner, a date, or a friend and you’ll learn together at no extra charge.
Are lessons LGBTQIA+ friendly?
Proudly, visibly, always. Lead, follow, or switch roles whenever you like, and dance with whoever you love. Every couple and every body is welcome on our floor.
How do I book a lesson?
Send a request through Book Online, text us, or email info@salsadancela.com. Tell us what you’d like to learn, your neighborhood, and the times that work — we’ll confirm the details and you’re booked. Online scheduling is coming to this site soon.
Do you do wedding first dances?
Yes — it’s one of our specialties. We choreograph to your song, rehearse at your venue when possible, and build everything around your comfort level. See Wedding Dance Lessons for details.
Can you host a group or party?
Absolutely. We bring the dance floor to birthdays, team events, quinceañeras, and more. See Private Events.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you can move in and shoes that let you pivot — smooth-soled shoes or clean sneakers are perfect. Heels are welcome but never required.
